Acclaimed Montreal filmmaker SHARON HYMAN has been making what she calls autodocumentaries for four decades. using humour and candour to show a side of the female psyche not typically seen in mainstream media. She produces, writes, directs, shoots, and edits her films — and also stars in them!
Ms. Hyman is an internationally recognized expert on the topic of “Living Apart Together” relationships, or what she has coined “apart-ners”: committed partners who live apart.
Her current film project APARTNERS: LIVING HAPPILY EVER APART is the first feature-length
documentary on the topic of apartnering.

In 2015 Sharon Hyman founded a global community Apartners Living Apart Together) which has thousands of members worldwide — likely the largest online LAT group in the world.
The director holds multiple degrees, including a Master's degree in Educational Technology.
She has lived happily ever apart from her spouse for over 25 years in Montreal, Canada.
